Manny Pacquiao Knocked-Out David Diaz, Plus the Boston Celtics Visit

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

Last Saturday or should I say Sunday (in the Philippines) Filipinos stopped whatever they’re doing and switched off to their respective televisions or radios for…that includes myself…for one reason, to see the Manny Pacquiao and David Diaz fight: The Lethal Combination. ^_^

Ok, so the fight was not live on TV but it was on the radio. So, while waiting for the fight to be televised, I turned on my radio and had it on its highest volume while cooking my favorite, Adobo. Since, it was live, I lend my ears and listened carefully as the DJs (i don’t know if they were DJ’s or just announcers)  carefully announced every detail of the fight. It was nerve wrecking to hear those comments and all. But in the end, as I expected, Manny won. I waited for an hour to see it on TV. It’s really that different watching the fight than just listening.

So I spent my 2 hours watching the telecast and was surprise to see the bloody face of Diaz and I pitied him so much. Though he had those cuts and blood on his face he still managed to last till round 9. When he finally got knocked, I was so happy. Happy that Manny Pacquiao got another Title as Lightweight Champion, made history as the first Asian to have 4 titles, and of course for giving us, Filipinos another pride. (more…)

2008 NBA Champion is Boston Celtics

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Yehey! Boston won the title once again after 22 years and it’s their 17th. What can I say? Hmm, better luck next time for the Lakers? Lol.

Celtics finished Game 6 with a 39-point lead 131-92 over LA Lakers. Paul Pierce is the MVP. :)

The business is over! With Filipino Manny Pacquiao winning over Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.

I watched their fight for hours since it was not shown live. So while waiting for the TV coverage, I listened to my MP3 player to know the updates of the fight. As a fan of my country man Pacquiao, I was very excited and at the same time very nervous for what will happen. (more…)
